I just bought my 2nd Flip camera, this HD unit. In general, I love the Flip's, but getting this HD unit to work with ANY Microsoft software was a nightmare. Bottom line: Any HD Flip camera WILL NOT WORK with ANY Microsoft software (Windows Media Player or Microsoft Movie Maker) if you have a 64 bit laptop (which is the newer processor coming on the market today). The key piece of information here is this only affects 64 bit processors. The more common 32 bit processors work fine.
Flip acknowledges this limitation in their FAQ section of their support page. I've been told by a Flip supervisor that there's some discussion on writing drivers to fix the problem, but that's not in the immediate time frame.
