My wife and I were just looking for a HD camera to film our 3 boys with. We wanted something easy to use and easy to carry everywhere. THis is small and fits in your pocket or purse. Also wanted something that stored video on the drive and hooked right up to the computer instead of having to deal with tapes. We took the camera to the lake and were able to film the boys fishing, camping, and playing. Camera holds 2 hrs of footage which is a good amount. Very easy to use and the ease of downloading video to computer was great. If you are going to download video to a DVD(standard 4.7 gb) you can probably only do about 30 minutes worth of video as this is HD video and takes up more space than a regular video.
