I've always secretly wanted a camcorder but have never bought one because I usually associate most with the idea of my dad shooting family vacation videos. Camcorders seemed large, cumbersome, and difficult to use; overall more hassle than they were worth. The Flip was perfect -- easy to use, lightweight, great video product and most importantly easy to fit in my bag. I was able to start using it as soon as I took it out of the box and could easily download the videos. I now take it everywhere I go.
